Working with English Language Learners

Working with English Language Learners is a one-time, 2.5-hour workshop that prepares volunteer tutors and community members to become reading tutors for children in grades K-12. Come pick up some strategies for helping English Language Learners in the classroom or in after-school programs! The workshop will cover background information about student populations in the Twin Cities, general best practices for working with English Language Learners, strategies for helping English Language Learners with reading and writing and activities for developing oral language.
