How Adult Brains Learn Languages
Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2020
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon CDT (Not sure what time this is in your time zone? Click here to convert it!)
Cost: There is no fee for this training, but your tax-deductible donation will support our tutor training program and literacy learners across Minnesota!
Description: Learn what research has to say about how adult brains learn a new language, how trauma and stress impact learning, and how this influences the teaching practices that we use in the language classroom. Participants will leave the webinar with suggestions for ways teachers and tutors can apply brain-based teaching practices as we are helping adult ESL students develop their language skills.
CEUs will be emailed to participants after the webinar, typically within 1-2 business days. Webinars are not recorded, but please check literacymn.org/volunteer-trainings for additional sessions.
**This training is for current volunteers or for those who would like to learn more about the topic. Due to COVID-19, there are currently few openings for new volunteers. Please check back for opportunities in the fall.**
