Intro to the English Unlocked Curriculum for Open Door Learning Center Volunteers
Date: Wednesday, September 1, 2021
Time: 6 - 7 p.m. CDT
Description: Come to this training to learn about our new curriculum for volunteer-led classes, English Unlocked. Designed with a flexible, low-prep, and student-centered approach, English Unlocked is written to enable volunteer teachers of all experience levels to lead an ESL class successfully. This training is for all volunteers, new or experienced, who are interested in leading in-person classes at Open Door Learning Centers. You'll learn about the vision of the curriculum, its format, and best practices for using it. We'll also discuss what a typical class could look like, and how to adapt the lessons for your group’s levels and abilities. Note: This Zoom training will be recorded for those who cannot attend it live. All volunteers who will be leading classes in person will need to attend or watch the video before September 13.
Literacy Minnesota is committed to providing access for people with disabilities at our trainings and events. To request accommodations, please contact Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-251-9074 at least two weeks in advance.
